D&D is 30 years old. That's practically venerable.
The thing that amuses me is that the game I've been playing for... ummm.. a long time... *cough* almost twenty years *cough* is a significant enough cultural phenomena to merit an article in the otherwise respectable BBC news.
There's an excellent discussion involving a lot of misty-eyed geek reminiscing on Slashdot over hyah.
Jebus bless the Electric Six.
Bush and Blair at the Gay Bar.
(Not much posting this week, as I've been wrestling with a virus. Not that kind of virus, the computer kind. I'll fill you all in when I get my computer back up.)
Fop-metal gurus The Darkness recently posted the video for their new single "Love is Only a Feeling" on their website.
If you haven't heard of The Darkness for some reason, well... I feel bad. Rock and roll hasn't been this much fruity high-octane /fun/ in a long time. Grab yourself a copy of "Permission to Land" if you don't believe me. For those of you already familiar with The Darkness, you may wish to groove on these tasty live Mp3s.
Did I mention they cover Radiohead's "Street Spirit?" Well, they do.
Or perhaps you would like to behold the pictures of Justin in a black and orange flaming jumpsuit. Words fail me.
Pancake Mountain is what children's programming should be. It's smart, twisted, and clearly done just as much for the enjoyment of the adults involved as it is for the edification of the children who might chance to see it. One of my favorite clips is Ian McKaye (formerly of Fugazi, in case you didn't know) performing a song called Vowel Movement.
If you're feeling naughty, here's a wide-open directory of .mov files that you can save as your very own.
There's a couple of movies there that aren't displayed on the main page, too. Good times.
This film is like every anime I've ever seen put in a stew and then blended until smooth. Contains a possibly-not-worksafe moment of hot bunny action.
Dig on this video of Japanese guitar hero Keiichi rocking the Super Mario theme. Now bow down and repeat after me:
"We're not worthy! We're not worthy!"

(Warning: Keiichi's site is in Japanese.)
Daylight savings time starts at 2AM Sunday, so don't forget to set your clocks an hour forward. If this throws you off way too much, check out this groovy article on resetting your body's sleeping clock.
I'm billing the BBC news $600 for a new monitor and keyboard, thanks to this picture, which is without a doubt the best picture of a glam rocker and a giraffe that I've ever seen.
Foppery readers in the UK (or whose budget allows for trips to the UK) will be pleased to know that The Darkness will be headlining the Reading and Leeds festivals this August.
